Village of Palatine Happenings

The Village of Palatine approved a 14-lot new residential subdivision on Michigan Avenue. 

Environmental clean-up continues at the former Citgo located at Plum Grove and Palatine Road. Redevelopment of the property is at least a year off, but there are options being looked at. 

Business Update

An update on the status of Whole Foods in Palatine, when it's moving and if anything is planned to take it's place.

Police News

A shoplifter got more than he bargained for and residents in Palatine are forgetting to lock their cars, and regretting it. 

Obituaries

Palatine High School 2012 graduate David Bogenberger was found dead in his off-campus fraternity at Northern Illinois University. A celebration of his life was held on Tuesday, November 6 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. 

Politics

Tammy Duckworth is the new congresswoman for the 8th congressional district, beating out incumbent Joe Walsh by 10 percentage points. 

Upcoming Events/Activities

Palatine Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held Saturday, November 17 in Towne Square. Several Palatine girls who are involved in the Illinois Youth Dance Theatre will be in costume to showcase and preview their December performances of the Nutcracker.
