Here we go Palatine with another round of snow, wind gusts and slippery roads, as a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect beginning at 9 p.m. tonight.
Snow tonight is expected to be followed by heavy snow into late evening, with a snowfall rate of 1-inch per hour or more, according to the National Weather Service.
Waking up Friday, commuters can expect freezing drizzle and treacherous, slippery conditions on the roads.
Total accumulations are projected to be up to 6 inches of snow and a tenth of an inch of ice. Wind gusts will be between 30 and 35 miles per hour.
Visibility is expected to be diminished to less than a half of a mile on the roadways, due to wind gusts and blowing snow.
Drivers are advised to use extreme caution if they need to be out on the roads.
The Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. Friday.
