A formal hearing will be held this afternoon to determine if La Presa Restaurant, 319 S. Rohlwing Road, will keep its business license, or suffer sanctions and/or penalties.
A hearing had been scheduled for Wednesday, January 30 for the business to go before the village regarding charges of alleged drug sales on the restaurant premises, and for the lack of proper BASSET certifications for employees who serve alcohol at the establishment.
La Presa asked for a hearing continuance, which was rescheduled for today at village hall.
Village Manager Reid Ottesen, who will preside over the hearing, could decide to lodge penalties or sanctions against La Presa, or to revoke the business license altogether.
Village Attorney Patrick Brankin said the business will be allowed to provide testimony to answer to the allegations made by the village.
The hearing will be held at 2 p.m. at village council chambers, 200 E. Wood Street, and is open to the public.
Palatine Patch reminds readers that allegations do not indicate guilt.
