New Pool at Eagle Park Scheduled to Open June 9
The Palatine Park District is building a new pool at Eagle Park.
The new $3.8 million pool facility at Eagle Park is scheduled to open next month.
While details are still being worked out for the June 9 grand opening, the pool's renovations, located at 1425 N. Oak Street and 1427 N. Oak Street, are nearly complete.
Besides the replacement of the pool, which is the same size as the old one, upgrades to the facility include adding a zero-depth pool for children, a new bathhouse, a newly paved parking lot and a larger lawn area, said Pat Moser, Palatine Park District superintendent of parks and planning. The district bought a home at 1501 N. Oak Street for $350,000, adding about 30,000 square feet of additional green space.
The new facility also will have a three-meter diving board, two one-meter diving boards and a water slide. The new capacity will be 428, just slightly lower than the previous pool’s capacity of 500.
