An Arlington Heights woman has been charged with aggravated battery of a child.

An Arlington Heights woman faces criminal charges after fracturing the legs and skull of a 2-month old baby boy, police said.

Rubi Cabrera, 19, has been charged with aggravated battery of a child. Police and the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) officials were called to Lutheran General Hospital on Friday, Aug. 19.

A child abuse pediatrician found the infant boy had facial bruising and cuts along with fractures of both legs and his skull. Arlington Heights police said it was the doctor's opinion that the injuries were consistent with child abuse and not the result of normal infant care.
