Missing Palatine Girl Found Safe Early Saturday Morning

Lilyann Tamez was reported missing early evening Thursday, January 24 and was located by Palatine police in the early morning hours Saturday. She is safe and no harm came to her while she was gone, police say.

Palatine police received information about the whereabouts of then missing 12-year-old Lilyann Tamez, and were able to locate her in the early morning hours on Saturday.

Commander Randy Walker with the Palatine police said information obtained by police after interviewing friends of the girl suggested she was in a certain vehicle, which police were able to locate in the 1800 block of Green Lane after midnight.

She was found unharmed and no foul play is suspected against her during the time she was missing, Walker said.

After police found Lilyann, she was taken into limited custody at the Palatine Police Station and her parents were contacted.

Lilyann was reported missing Thursday early evening after she didn't arrive home from school. Interviews with friends of hers indicated she planned on runnning away and had packed a bag full of clothing prior to going missing.

The activities reported in the area around Green Lane in Palatine are hardly an accurate reflection of the whole town.
