Some IKEA Restaurant customers got more than they bargained for in the company's trademark Swedish Meatballs, Reuters reports.

The world’s leading furniture retailer, who also has restaurants in each store, has stopped selling its Swedish meatballs in 13 European countries after tests found horse meat in the food labeled as beef and pork, the Associated Press reports. The horse meat-laden meatballs were on sale in the Czech Republic, Britain, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Slovakia, Hungary, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Cyprus and Ireland.

Retuers reports there is no indication that horse meat is present in any other batches of meatballs, including those sold in the Schaumburg and Bolingbrook locations, although some American IKEA shoppers are skeptical.

“I am quite concerned about the horse meat that has been found in your meatballs in Czech Republic. Where are the meatballs that are sold in the U.S. made? What assurances can you make that they do NOT contain horse meat? I am considering throwing away the bag I have in the freezer and never buying/ eating them again,” Claudia Redman McCabe wrote on the IKEA USA Facebook page.
