Family Best Bets of the Week

• Palatine Jaycees Annual Easter Egg Hunt
  

Where / When: Towne Square, 150 W. Palatine Rd., Palatine; 9:30 a.m.; Saturday, April 16.

Why Go?: 3,500 eggs, some with prizes from local merchants, four different age groups of kids up to age 9. Pictures can be taken with the Easter Bunny for a $2 sitting fee.

• Family Night at Buehler Y
  

Where / When: Buehler Y,1400 W. Northwest Hwy., Palatine; 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m., Friday, April 15.

Why Go?: Bring the whole family to the Y and go for a swim, check out the playmaze, play some basketball and try out the climbing wall.

Pricing: Free for Y members; $20 per family for non-members

• William Fremd High School Dance Team Show

Where / When: William Fremd High School, 1000 S. Quentin Rd., Palatine; 7 p.m., Friday, April 15.

Why Go?: Watch a performance of the talented members of the Fremd dance team.

• Hound Egg Hunt

Where / When: Towne Square, 150 W. Palatine Rd., Palatine; 12 p.m., Saturday, April 16.

Why Go?: The Palatine Park District is hosting this egg hunt for dogs! Dogs will hunt for eggs filled with treats and have their pictures taken with the bunny. All dogs must be kept on a leash at all times and must show proof of a current rabies tag at time of registration.

Pricing: $6 per dog in advance; $8 per dog at event

• Healthy Kids Day

Where / When: Buehler YMCA, 1400 W. Northwest Hwy., Palatine; 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., Saturday, April 16.

Why Go?: Fun run, bouncy house, fun and creative new activities to try. Bring the whole family to the Y on the nation's largest health day for children and their families. Take part in some fun, active family time.

• Jesus Christ Superstar

Where / When: Cutting Hall, 150 E. Wood St., Palatine; 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday, April 15 and 16; 3 p.m., Sunday, April 17.

Why Go?: See one of the most popular and enduring masterpieces created for the musical theatre. Experience the unique and exquisite production, Theatre Nebula and Music On Stage theatre companies' first collaboration, that tells the story of the final seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth.

Pricing: $20 for adults, $17 for seniors, $18 for children if purchased in advance; $22 for adults, $19 for seniors, $20 for children if purchased at the door

• 7th Annual Co-Ed Volleyball Tournament for High School and College Teams

 Where / When: Harper College, 1200 W. Algonquin Rd., Palatine; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Saturday, April 16.

Why Go?: Teams of deaf and hard-of-hearing students from local high schools and area colleges play do-or-die battles on the volleyball court. Snacks and beverages will be for sale. Sponsored by the Deaf Program at Harper College.

Pricing: $4 for adults; $3 for students with ID; free for children 12 and under accompanied by an adult
