Grab & Go Kids Planner: Bunny Dash, Mother Goose, and More

Here are our suggestions for some fun things to do with your kids this weekend.

Family Best Bets of the Week

Where / When: Deer Grove East Forest Preserve at Dundee Road and Hicks Road in Palatine; 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.; Saturday, April 2.

Why Go?: 5K run and walk, 1 mile youth run, 100 yard dash egg hunt with more than 3,000 eggs, activities for kids of all ages. Visit the Easter Bunny too. 

Pricing: $30 for 5K; $10 for 1 mile youth run; $5 for egg hunt

 

Where / When: Here Whee Go Again, Ridge Plaza, 928 W. Dundee Rd., Arlington Heights; 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Friday, April 1; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday, April 2; 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sunday, April 3.

Why Go?: Shop for gently used children's items, nursery and baby gear, clothing, toys, outside play equipment.

Pricing: $1 admission per adult

 

Where / When: Buehler Y, 1400 W. Northwest Hwy.; 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m., Friday, April 1.

Why Go?: Swim, check out the playmaze, play basketball, try the climbing wall with your kids.

Pricing: Free for Buehler Y and Metro Association Members; $20 per family if non-members

 

Where / When: Palatine Public Library, 700 N. North Court; 2 - 3 p.m., Sunday, April 3.

Why Go?: Interactive program, puppetry, rhymes, creative dramatics by Mary Jane Haley bring Mother Goose to life.

Pricing: Free

 

Where / When: Meijer, 1301 Meijer Dr., Rolling Meadows; 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday, April 2.

Why Go?: Sample baseball-themed food, free baseball-themed giveaways, meet Bill Madlock and get his autograph, live broadcast of WDRV's The Drive.

Pricing: Free

 

Where / When: Cutting Hall, 150 E. Wood St., Palatine; 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday, April 1 and 2; 3 p.m., Sunday, April 3.

Why Go?: See one of the most popular and enduring masterpieces created for the musical theatre. Experience the unique and exquisite production, Theatre Nebula and Music On Stage theatre companies' first collaboration, that tells the story of the final seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth.

Pricing: $20 for adults, $17 for seniors, $18 for children if purchased in advance; $22 for adults, $19 for seniors, $20 for children if purchased at the door
