1. Chicago Classic Karate Championship

Where / When: Harper College, Gymnasium, Building M, 1200 W. Algonquin Rd., Palatine; 8 a.m., Sunday, March 27.

Why Go?: Watch highly competitive athletes in action during this all day Illinois Shotokan Karate Club tournament.

Pricing: $5 for adults; $3 for children 5 - 14; $3 for seniors 65 and older; free for children 4 and under.

  

2. DJ Dance Night

3. 34th Annual National Art Exhibition: Small Works

Why Go?: Juried exhibition of work selected from across the country, sponsored by Harper College's Educational Foundation. Media ranges from photography to painting and sculpture.

4. The DuPage County Home Improvement and Landscaping Expo

Where / When: DuPage County Fairgrounds, 2015 W. Manchester Rd., Wheaton; 4 - 8 p.m., Friday, March 25; 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday, March 26; 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sunday, March 27.

Why Go?: Exciting displays, exhibits and promotions from the best known local and national home improvement companies. Basic services and high-end construction. Live entertainment, food, activities, free prize drawings, balloons, popcorn and more.

Pricing: Free admission and free parking

 

5.  Harper College Ensemble Theatre Company Presents Evita

 Where / When: Harper College, 1200 W. Algonquin Rd., Palatine; 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday, March 25 and 26; 2 p.m., Sunday, March 27.

Why Go?: The life story of Eva Peron presented by the Harper College Ensemble Theatre Company, Liberal Arts Division and Student Activities. Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Tim Rice, directed by Kevin Long.

Pricing: $12 for Harper students, faculty/staff, seniors and children 12 and under; $15 for general admission

 

6. Spring Flower Show

Where / When: Knupper Nursery & Landscape, 1801 N. Rand Rd., Palatine; 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.; Saturday, March 26.

Why Go?: Celebrate the start of a great gardening season, meet over 30 exhibitors, attend free seminars and enter to win door prizes.

Pricing: Free

 

7. Jesus Christ Superstar

Where / When: Cutting Hall, 150 E. Wood St., Palatine; 8 p.m., Saturday, March 26 and 3 p.m., Sunday, March 27.

Why Go?: See one of the most popular and enduring masterpieces created for the musical theatre. Experience the unique and exquisite production, Theatre Nebula and Music On Stage theatre companies' first collaboration, that tells the story of the final seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth.
