1. Patio Entertainment at Twin Lakes

Where / When:Twin Lakes Recreation Area Deck; 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.; Friday, July 8.

Why Go?: Forget Hannah will perform rock classics and a bit of blues on the deck at the Twin Lakes Recreation Area. The free concert is presented by the Salt Creek Park District. Arrive early and enjoy an evening sitting outside, listening to music. Plenty of delicious food and drinks will be available for purchase.

2. Sounds of Summer Concert

Where / When: Community Park and Fred P. Hall Amphitheater; 8 - 9:30 p.m., Friday, July 8.

Why Go?: Free concert for the whole family by the Neverly Brothers sponsored by the Palatine Park District. Go back in time to the days of American Rockabilly and young British pop bands.

Pricing: Free

 

3. The Boy Friend

Where / When: Cutting Hall; 7:30 p.m., Friday, July 8 and Saturday, July 9; 3 p.m., Sunday, July 10.

Why Go?: The Boy Friend is the 26th annual production of the Second Suburb Players, sponsored by the Palatine Park District. 

Pricing: $12 for adults and $10 for seniors, students and children in advance; $14 for adults and $12 for seniors, students and children at the door

 

4. Palatine Farmers Market

Where / When: Palatine Metra Train Station, 542 Colfax St., Palatine;  7 a.m. - 1 p.m.; Saturday, July 9.

Why Go?: Visit the 27 vendors who will be selling their farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, organic meats and eggs, cheeses, spices, olives, pickles and much more.

Pricing: Free admission

 

5. Book Sorting for Little City Foundation 

Where / When: Little City Foundation; 9 - 1 p.m., Saturday, July 9.

Why Go?: Volunteer to help sort through donated books to be put on display at the Little City's 5th Annual Book Fair. Help is needed to check the condition of the books and then organize the books by genre. Wear comfortable shoes and light clothing as there is no air-conditioning in the warehouse. 6. Rodd Tuffcurls and the Bench Press

Where / When: Durty Nellie's; doors open at 9:30 p.m., show begins at 10 p.m.

7. Kip

Where / When: Lamplighter Inn Tavern & Grille, 60 N. Bothwell St., Palatine; 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday, July 8.

Why Go? It's Friday Family Happy Hour at Lamplighter Inn Tavern and Grille with live acoustic music.
