Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth of the 8th District participated in the National Day of Service commemoration Saturday, and encouraged all Americans to find some way to serve others.

“There are so many great ways to serve your country,” Duckworth said. “Whether it’s volunteering at a soup kitchen or nursing home, tutoring at a school, or helping to build affordable housing.

“We all have a responsibility to go into our communities and make a difference,” she said.

Duckworth also took part in a community service project at Ideal Academy in Washington D.C. and spoke at a rally  on the National Mall.

Duckworth volunteers at Feeding Greater Elgin and St. Paul’s Food Pantry in Bloomington, Illinois. She also is a 21 year veteran in the United States Army.

I love Tammy and I think Volunteering is its own reward but politicians should keep this in mind.

Tammy Duckworth should focus on teaching our children about the economic tsunami that is coming our way. Over $17 trillion in debt, half the country does not pay income taxes, most importantly, American have forgotten who they are. Now all they want is their "stuff." BTW, is Tammy her real name? Or is it "Ladda?"
