Property Tax Appeal Seminar Scheduled
Palatine Township Assessor Terry Kelly's office will host a seminar Nov. 17 on how to file a property tax appeal.
Palatine Township Assessor Terry Kelly announced in a press release that Palatine Township will be open for Board of Review tax appeals officially starting Nov 8. The filing period ends on Dec 7.
Residents can appeal their property’s assessed value twice a year, once with the Cook County Assessor and once with the Board of Review. Residents can, however, stop in prior to Nov. 8 and pre-file an appeal.
Reducing the assessed value of your property can help lower your tax bill. If you feel your property is over assessed residents are encouraged to stop by the Township Assessor’s Office at 721 S. Quentin Rd to file an appeal. The direct phone is 847-358-6164.
On Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. Assessor Kelly will host a seminar on “How to File an Appeal with the Board of Review.” Leading the seminar will be Board of Review Commissioner Dan Patlak.
The seminar will take place in the Woodfield Room of the Holiday Inn in Rolling Meadows, located at 3405 Algonquin Road, Rolling Meadows. (You might remember it as the Holidome-located just East of Algonquin Rd. and Route 53).
The Palatine Township Assessor’s Office looks forward to helping you reduce your property tax bill.
