American Idol Results: Haley Eliminated

Haley Reinhart was eliminated from American Idol after an impressive run on the Fox series.

Haley Reinhart's run on American Idol came to an end Thursday.

The Harper College student and Wheeling High School graduate was eliminated from American Idol after 95 million votes were cast following Wednesday's program. It was the most votes ever cast for a non-final episode of American Idol.

Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina will compete next week to see who is this year's American Idol.

Reinhart's journey on the show began after an audition in Milwaukee. Early on it appeared that Reinhart might make an early exit from the program, finishing among the bottom three in votes four times. But, Reinhart perservered.

"This is the biggest platform anybody could ask for," Reinhart said, after the results were announced. "I rocked it out and I had a blast."

Reinhart, 20, attended Harper College in 2009 and 2010 studying jazz piano and jazz history. She also performed with Harper's Jazz ensemble and sang at the college's annual Dinner and Jazz concert.

Reinhart's American Idol run garnered strong support in her hometown of Wheeling.

“Vote Haley” signs dot Wheeling’s landscape, while many restaurants held viewing parties, honoring her on their marquees and offering assorted promotions in her name.

Reinhart returned for a hometown celebration last weekend, which included a visit to Wheeling High School and a concert at Arlington Park.

Reinhart's first performance Wednesday was "What is & What Should Never Be" by Led Zepplin. Her father accompanied her on guitar. Reinhart fell down toward the end of the performance, but got back up without missing a beat and continued on.

In her second performance Reinhart sang "Rhiannon" by Fleetwood Mac. Her third song was "You Oughta Know" by Alanis Morissette.

What are ya'll smokin? Haley should have been eliminated weeks ago. She sucks. She tried to get James Durbin votes with the sub-par Zeplin song. It should have been a guys final Scotty the body and James the Rocker.

The finals would really really be a boring performance. It would be exciting if it is a James Durbin - Haley Reinhart showdown. Just imagine a rock-jazz jazz-rock concert would be.....

Haley was by FAR the best talent and professional from day 1. I don't give a damn about who "wins" with 13 year olds deciding on which country hokum wins. I'm done. Stupid show.

Hey, listen with your ears not your feelings. Scotty has a low mostly associated with country voice. It beats listening to the high pitched rockers. Scotty has country in his blood and seemingly in his voice, I think if he and James sounded good he,Scotty will do well as an American Idol, if voted in.

Personally I think Haley had the stage presence, however the voice on Scotty is so unreal. They all are talented and will all get a record deal so stop whinning.
