8th District Results: Duckworth Wins With 66 Percent
Updates throughout the night on the Democrats vying for the 8th Congressional district in the Illinois primary.

Tammy Duckworth gave her victory speech shortly after 9p.m., with about 50 percent of the votes counted, and after her opponent Raja Krishnamoorthi conceded.
As of 11:23 p.m., votes for Duckworth were at 66 percent. All of DuPage County results were in; 189 of 193 Cook County precincts were tallied; and 52 of 55 Kane County precincts were tallied.
Duckworth will face incumbent Congressman Joe Walsh in November. Redistricting created an 8th district which covers parts of Cook, DuPage and Kane counties. The district covers parts of Buffalo Grove, Palatine, Barrington and Elmhurst. It runs west to Elgin and south to Lombard.

Hey Dave, why do people hate paying for higher taxes, big government that does nothing to improve our lives but suck our money from us to pay for entitlements that the majority pays but most do not deserve. You list a number of entitlements etc. When does it stop?? Republicans do not hate minorities, we just want everyone to be on the same even field. Many Republicans were from poor parents (me) who actually went to school, studied, went to a Jr. college, advanced in the Army and finished at an University, built a house, raised two kids, ( in DuPage County)realized that you idiot Democrats are the most corrupt politicians in the State (especially Crook County). Read the papers (John Kass, Tribune) . Stay out of DuPage county. We have great schools, safe streets, great cops ( I was one for 26 yrs) and DuPage is in the BLACK (not like Crook County in the RED )
