Palatine, Ill.
Update: Bryan Porcaro's body was recovered in the desert on Saturday, Aug. 11. His dog was found nearby, also deceased. Thanks to everyone who shared this story, our family is extremely grateful for your help.
Bryan M. Porcaro, 37, an account representative with Constellation Energy (an Exelon Company), in Chicago, Ill., experienced car trouble on I-40 5-7 miles west of Ludlow, Calif., in the Mojave Desert Sunday night/early Monday morning. He was driving a black 2007 or ’08 four-door Volkswagen Golf.
He then reportedly drove the car west another few miles before ultimately abandoning it approximately nine miles west of Ludlow. Porcaro is currently on medical leave while undergoing chemotherapy treatments for a rare liver
disease at Northwestern University in Chicago. His family believes the medications may have disoriented him at the time of the car breakdown. He had texted family members on Sunday evening that he was looking forward to seeing
them and that he was on his way home.
He was traveling with a black Labrador/poodle mix pictured below, who answers to the name of “Ruff”.
If you have any information on the whereabouts of Bryan or the dog please contact the San Bernadino Sheriff’s Office at 760-256-4838. Reference Number: 081201164.
Porcaro is 6-foot tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He has an arm-length tattoo and another that extends down the calf to the ankle.

Completely stunned and praying, praying, praying....I was just going to call him yesterday - haven't talked to him in over a year, but it was always like yesterday with Bryan. I have the utmost respect for him and can't fathom what he must have been going through. May God be with him and those helping to find him.

I am stunned, saddened, and hopeful that Bryan will return home safely. It has been more than 15 years since I have spoken to him, always praying that he was safe, happy, and healthy. If ever my thoughts and prayers could come to fruition, I need them to come true now. I will not stop hoping, praying, and believing that you will read these prayers to you Bryan. You will come home, you will be OK, and you will always know you are loved.
May God and speed guide you...
Love and thoughts, Mike H.

My daughter April Beth Pitzer went missing from Newberry Springs 8yrs. ago. It is believed she was murdered and thrown down a mineshaft in Ludlow. I was so heartbroken when I read Bryan's story. I am so glad he and his doggie were found and his family will get to give him a Christian burial. The Lord be with you.

Can you copy another person's sentiments? You did not write this before you read the comment by Eric Angelo four comments up. Brian deserves a personally original sentiment, just to let you know.
